The success of a ministry can best be measured by its eternal influence. The ministry of Jesus has been estimated to have lasted only three years and yet the gospel continues to influence, change and shape lives some two thousand years later. Alpha House has ministered to seventy-two post incarcerated women since opening its doors. Just as the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ continues to impact people everywhere, the full impact of Alpha House will not be fully known until the Judgment Seat of Christ.
Funding has been an increasing problem for all non-profit organizations. Despite great efforts to obtain funding this year, reality hit us full force October 8th. The difficult decision has been formally made to dissolve the ministry. Alpha House will close its doors on November 29th and Alpha Bitz will continue to operate until the end of its fiscal year (December 31, 2013).
Arriving at a place where acknowledging that the season for Alpha House has completed its course has been heart wrenching, but we remain hopeful that as this door closes God will move us into a new arena where we can impact people for Christ. With that hope we have open our clenched fists, awaiting our loving God to fill them with something wondrous.
Many people have joined with Alpha House, shouldering the burden with passion and fierce determination. Those efforts strengthened and encouraged the founders and staff during some of the toughest times. Join us now by opening clinched fists that desperately longs to hang onto what we have, so that God can give something far beyond our comprehension.
What made this an amazing experience is that God took people like us and allowed us to be part of something grand. Alpha House ministry has always been an act of worship, to classify its success as an achievement would be to devalue the heart and soul of the effort spent by all connected to His work.
