By divine design four daughters were born to Walter and Reva Scarborough. From oldest to youngest are Carolyn LaDue, Diana Crabtree, Teddi Dison and Debbi Blair. They also have a younger brother, Walter T. Scarborough II. All were born on Air Force bases due to their father’s military career and grew up with a keen understanding of patriotic sacrifices as well as developing a deep appreciation of people from diverse backgrounds. Carolyn, Debbi and Walter all went on to also serve our country by joining the military. Carolyn and Walter still serve. All sisters have been involved in a variety of social service programs, either by profession or volunteerism. Each has always had a heart to serve and a passion for women’s ministry, especially to women who have been labeled as “unreachable”, “unwanted” or “unredeemable”. Each sister can identify with these women, for collectively they too have experienced incarceration, the tragedy and pressures of divorce, domestic violence, single parenthood and the burden of addiction and recovery. As a result of their combined experiences and being led by the power of the Holy Spirit, together the sisters pledged to use their experiences to benefit others and Alpha House was born. All four sisters lead and are extensively involved in a prison ministry for women in County. Carolyn’s spiritual gift in organization, as well as her ability to see the “big picture”, made her the obvious choice for Executive Director of Alpha House. Carolyn has been married for twenty three years to Patrick LaDue and has four children and five grandchildren. She is currently employed as the Base Information Manager at McGhee Tyson Air National Base. Carolyn graduated from Oliver Springs in 1975 and received her Associate of Applied Science in Information Technology in 2005. She is a member of Fellowship Church in Knoxville. She is currently employed by Bechtel National as a Document Control Administrator. Diana currently attends Norris First Baptist Church in Norris, TN, where she is an Outreach Team Leader and a ladies Bible Study teacher/mentor. Teddi graduated from Oliver Springs in 1980 and by far has the most experience with social programs having served as a Community Liaison, Public Housing Administrator, Domestic Violence Facilitator, and Child Advocacy Specialist. Additionally, she has experience in marketing these programs and locating financial resources through a variety of funding sources.
